The Best Family Sports

July 26, 2020 by Padre & Marco Leave a Comment

If you’re keen to spend more time bonding with your family, it’s a great idea to start playing a wide variety of family friends sports with your kids and partner. To discover some of the best family sports to start playing, simply continue reading.

The Best Family Sports:

Soccer:

Soccer is a safe, family friendly sport to play with kids of all ages. Better yet, all you’ll need to spend a fun filled afternoon playing soccer is an inexpensive soccer ball and a backyard. If you don’t have goal posts, simply use two jerseys or two water bottles as your goal posts.

Basketball:

Basketball is a fun family friendly sport, which you can play at home or at a local school. Better yet, if you have a small family you’ll be able to play 1 vs 1 games in-front of your house. While if you have a larger family, you’ll be able to play 3 vs 3 games on half of a basketball courts. Even if your kids don’t feel like playing a proper game of basketball, they may enjoy shooting hoops and going through fun dribbling exercises. In order to improve their basketball skills.

Athletics:

If your kids show an interest in athletics, it’s well worth practicing a few different athletics disciplines together. As you may find that your kids have natural talents in different events. For a bit of fun, why not set up a relay race around a park? Where each member of your family will complete a small portion of your course before passing a stick, to the next member of your family. If you complete this task, make sure to time your family. So that you’ll be able to try and beat your family’s personal best, over time.

Hockey:

If you have younger kids they’ll enjoy learning how to ice skate and completing passing drills. While if you have teens in your family, they may enjoy competing in penalty shootouts. To see which member of your family is the best shot.

Softball:

As baseball can be a dangerous sport to play with young children, due to the hardness of baseballs, it’s a great idea to introduce your kids to baseball, by playing softball. As softball follows the same rules as baseball but uses a larger, softer ball, which is easier for kids to hit. As an added bonus, softballs won’t hurt your kids if they accidentally hit your kids.

Gymnastics:

If your kids dream of representing the country in gymnastics at a future Olympics, it’s well worth teaching your kids how to complete basic gymnastics moves in your lounge or back yard. Such as how to perform a cartwheel and a hand stand. If your kids naturally take to gymnastics you may want to sign them up for proper gymnastics classes.

So if you want to help your kids find their natural talents and to foster a love of sport in your family, it’s definitely well worth lacing up your sneakers and participating in family sports with your kids.
